Anointing of the Sick is to offer prayers for possible recovery, but most importantly to give strength to the soul of the sick person (who is often discouraged, depressed, angry, annoyed and afraid).
Call the parish office to make an appointment or arrange a visit to someone homebound, in a hospital or care facility.
The Church believes this sacrament offers a special grace to calm the spirit and give the person the grace, strength and encouragement to bear the illness with dignity.
Holy Orders
Jesus Christ instituted the sacrament of Holy Orders at the Last Supper simultaneously with his institution of the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.
This sacrament can be received only once, just like Baptism and Confirmation, because it is for life. A man must be first ordained a Deacon, then a priest before being ordained a Bishop.
