Everyone is, to a degree, spiritually dead. Maybe you’re like Lazarus—four days in your tomb. The voice of Jesus can call you back to life.

  • Creative Things to Give Up for Lent
    (excerpts taken from Jennifer Miller * Feb 8, 2018 - DynamicCatholic.com)

When we make ourselves available to God, incredible things can happen.
That’s what can make Lent so powerful.

Don’t eat what you want - If you want waffles for breakfast, eat eggs. Instead of drinking orange juice, drink water.

Give something away - every day

    Don’t interrupt people

Stop complaining - Look for constructive ways to talk about difficulties. Look for the good in people instead of focusing on any inconvenience experienced.

Don’t waste downtime - Waiting in line, sitting at a stoplight, in between classes/meetings, waiting to meet someone...taken that time to prayer, to breathe, to reach out to someone around you.

    What To Do For Lent

Spend time in the classroom of silence - Set a time, then forget about it. Pray the Rosary, read some Scripture.  It could be 10 minutes or an hour...whatever you have.

Do BEST LENT EVER - The short, daily videos from Matthew Kelly are both inspiring and practical and take about 5 minutes a day.

Read the Gospels - It is in reading the Gospels that we can realize that Jesus is not just a historical figure. He is alive with us in everything we do.

Sit in a church with Jesus - Sitting in a quiet, empty church is a beautiful experience. Just you and God...there is something powerful about that.

Do an act of love every day - Send a kind note to a love one, do a good deed for a stranger, volunteer, post something inspiring on social media.
